Our Staff
Wesbury Hillside Home is governed by a volunteer board of directors that meets quarterly and a staff that is dedicated to Hillside residents. Some staff members have worked for many years at Hillside Home and are thought of as family by the residents.
Cathi Hanson, Administrator
Cathi Hanson, Vice President for Residential Services has specialized in care of the elderly for over 30 years.
She is a Registered Nurse, and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Cathi is a graduate of Allegheny General School of Nursing and a Degree from California University of Pennsylvania gives her a broad perspective and deep understanding of resident's physical and social needs. "Our main goal is to serve our residents just like we care for our own family. Wesbury Hillside Home is the perfect place for supportive care and companionship. It is the next best place to home.
Elwilda Bell, RN, Safety Director, Nurse Manager
Elwilda Bell graduated from Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She was employed at Meadville City Hospital starting her career in Medical-Surgical Nursing and in the I.C.U from 1968 until 1972 when she took time off to raise a family. Elwilda re-entered the workforce coming to Hillside Home in 1989. She was hired as staff RN, Charge Nurse part-time on the night shift. In late 1990 she moved on to day shift and was appointed as the RNAC.
In the mid 1990s when Hillside Home became a personal care home, Elwida was also appointed as Inservice Coordinator, C.P.R. instructor and Safety Director in addition to her position as part-time Charge Nurse. In 2006 Elwilda bagn working full-time at Hillside and in October of 2008 she accepted the position of Nurse Manager.
Donald Clawson, President/CEO
Mr. Clawson was appointed President of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community July 1, 1993.
Don entered the U.S. Army directly from Georgia State University in October of 1966. He retired from the Army with the rank of Major in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps in March 1987. A couple of his assignments included serving as Director of the Plans, Operations and Training Division of a 1,215 bed army hospital at Fort Stewart, Georgia, Director of Administrative Services for the Director of Plans Operations and Training at Fifth U.S. Army Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois and he completed one tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam as a Medevac pilot for the First Air Cavalry Division.
Mr. Clawson is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, receiving an M.B.A. in management; a graduate of Pepperdine University, Anaheim, California with an M.A. in human resource management; a graduate of Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia, with a B.A. in health care administration; and he completed two years of undergraduate studies at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, and is a graduate of the Air Crash Investigation School at the University of Arizona, Phoenix, Arizona.
Don began his career in long term care at the Presbyterian Home in Evanston, Illinois where he served as Assistant Executive Director for eight years. Prior to his appointment at Wesbury, he also served for nine years as Executive Director/CEO of Plymouth Place, a United Church of Christ Retirement Community in LeGrange Park, Illinois.
When the Wesbury Foundation was formed in 1995, he additionally became President and CEO of the Foundation. When Hillside Home in Meadville was acquired in 1996, he also became President and CEO of the new Wesbury Hillside Home Corporation. In 1999 he was also named President and CEO of the Annesley Association of Senior Health Services, another supporting corporation of Wesbury United Methodist Community. Mr. Clawson, representing Wesbury, was one of the three people who organized the formation of Healthcare Venture Alliance, which now operates twenty-two facilities, a temporary nursing employment service and a rehab therapy company throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania.
Brian Nageotte, CPA, CFO/COO
Brian is a graduate of Penn State Behrend with a BS in Accounting and acquired his MBA from Case Western University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA's. He worked in public accounting for 6 years before coming to Wesbury in 1999. Brian started at Wesbury as a Controller and in 2005 became CFO. In 2010 Brian became Wesbury's Chief Operating Officer. He is active in the local community serving as the Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Brian is also on the Meadville-Western Crawford County Board of Directors and the Board of Incorporators for Economic Progress Alliance.
Melissa Porter, VP, Sales and Marketing
Melissa Porter is a sales and marketing professional with 17 years of demonstrated results in the senior living and travel industries with particular strengths in relationship development, financial outcomes and departmental leadership. During her 10-year career with AAA West Penn West Virginia Travel Agency, Melissa was the largest regional producer. She was also the Director of Sales and Marketing at a nationally accredited continuing care retirement community in Erie, PA for 5 years. There she developed the annual marketing plan, analyzed performance measures, directed all advertising and oversaw the referral networking for the community. She also led the sales effort for a 36 cottage expansion project. Melissa joined Wesbury in September of 2009. As VP of Sales and Marketing Melissa is responsible for the campus wide marketing effort as well as all sales related activity to sustain a strong aggregate census.

Rhonda Thomas, Director of Development for The Wesbury Foundation
Rhonda Thomas began working for The Wesbury Foundation as Event Coordinator in 2008. Prior to this, she worked as Wesbury’s Director of Activities and Volunteer Services for ten years before taking a few years’ off to raise her family. Before starting her career at Wesbury, Rhonda worked at Horizon Hospital System as the Manager of Development and Volunteer Services. She graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BA Degree in Communications/Public Relations and with a minor in Business Administration. Rhonda has been a long time supporter of Wesbury, greatly valuing its service and mission.
